Three routes to discover Formentera on motorbike in a single day

Many of the tourists who visit Formentera, throughout the year, do so as a day trip from Ibiza.

Besides the tourists, the residents of the greater pitiusa also take the opportunity to spend the day in their neighbouring island, to enjoy their beaches, their restaurants or simply the change of landscape.

To make the most of the day, it is best to travel on one of the first boats in the morning. Even if you are not a fan of getting up early, I assure you that it will be worth it.

Once in the port of La Savina, several car rental companies, such as Formotor, offer their services to tourists and residents to facilitate their mobility on the island.

Its small size and ability to go everywhere, make the motorbike the queen of the summer months on the island.

So we are going to propose the following three routes to discover Formentera on motorbike in a single day. But without hurry, taking pleasure in each place to live it to the fullest.

1. Overwhelming nature, food fit for a king and sunset in a magic cove.

La Savina – Sant Ferran – La Mola – Es Caló – Caló des Mort

Just after pick up the motorbike in the port, we invite you to come to the village of Sant Ferran and have a good breakfast to boost you with energy.

Then follow the route towards the easternmost point of the island, towards La Mola, with its beautiful lighthouse and its vertigo cliffs. Take a few minutes to connect with the spectacular scenery, and with yourself!

On the road to La Mola there is a viewpoint that is a mandatory stop to observe and photograph the beautiful island of Formentera. Likes assured!

Then, return to the village of Es Caló to walk around the fishermen’s piers and sunbathe or take a swim in the surrounding beaches. The goal is to enjoy and make you hungry to taste a delicious meal (better book in advance) in one of the restaurants in the village.

And as the final culmination of the day, we recommend you discover Caló des Mort, a small cove, full of charm (and people, depending on the month you visit). At the time of sunset its turquoise waters reflect the different colors of the sky and it is a sight well worth seeing.
